Forbes has named the University of Illinois Springfield’s business administration bachelor’s degree (BBA) a top online program for 2023. According to Forbes, the UIS online BBA made the list because of its low average annual net price, high student retention rate and low student-to-faculty ratio.

“We believe that undergraduate business students are best served when we combine differential focuses, online learning and internship opportunities,” said Som Bhattacharya, dean of the UIS College of Business and Management. “We have married these facets to deliver the best in online undergraduate business education that meets students where they are. We are grateful for this recognition of excellence from Forbes.”

UIS offers three online BBA programs: comprehensive, human resource management and management. Each degree approaches a business education from a different angle.

Students who choose the comprehensive option receive a broad-based education of the business enterprise through advanced study in the business functional areas including finance, management, marketing and operations management. Each area of study prepares students for a new knowledge in a key area of business, a new career, or promotional career opportunities.

The human resource management option is designed to develop the critical, conceptual and interpersonal skills that are essential to employment in management positions of organizations. Students gain an understanding of all aspects of talent management, including job analysis and design, workforce planning and staffing. Students who complete the program are prepared for careers in human resource management, human capital management, and careers related to managing and supporting employees.

The goal of the management concentration is to develop the critical, conceptual and interpersonal skills that are essential to employment in management positions in all types of organizations. Students who complete the management concentration are well prepared to effectively manage both small and large business enterprises.

All three BBA programs require an internship. These business intern opportunities provide students with hands-on experience in real-world experiences that will be invaluable in their future employment and set the UIS BBA apart from other business programs. In-state and out-of-state online learners at UIS pay the same tuition rates and are eligible for scholarships.
