Graduating soon? Congratulations!

Federal Regulations require student loan borrowers to complete loan exit counseling upon leaving school. The purpose of this counseling is to help you to understand your rights and obligations as a student loan borrower.

The U.S. Department of Education is the lender for all Federal Direct Loans. These loans remain with the federal government for the life of the loan. An assigned Department of Education Direct Loan Servicer will oversee your loan account until your direct loans are paid in full.

To log in to studentaid.gov to complete Exit counseling, you will enter your FSA ID and password. From there you will complete the exit counseling session and view specific information regarding your federal loans and repayment plan options.

Please be sure to review your loan history as well as ensure you are aware of any privately-funded education loans you may have borrowed. Repayment of these loans will be through the private bank or lender you utilized, and will be separate from the federal loans.
