Amanda Weibring, an associate registrar in records and registration, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for July 2025.
Weibring is recognized for her exceptional leadership, positive attitude and dedication to supporting students and staff.
“Amanda always has time to answer questions and give help when needed,” said one nominator.
Her colleagues also highlighted her adaptability and commitment.
“She has gone above and beyond, taking on multiple job roles while staffing was lower, training new team members and managing athletics and appeals by students,” her nominator said.
Weibring’s supervisor, Lea Smith, described her as dependable, organized and a trusted resource.
“Amanda is great at conflict resolution with her level-headedness, listening skills and ability to make objective decisions,” Smith said. “She does an excellent job leading the Records and Registration Appeal Committee, handling tough situations with fairness and clarity.”
She is also recognized for her volunteer efforts on campus that help support UIS students.
“Amanda also contributes to the commencement committee to ensure a smooth and successful ceremony while keeping operations running within records and registration,” her nominator said. According to her supervisor, Weibring, who worked at UIS from April 2020 to June 2023 and returned in March 2024, is considered an invaluable asset to the records and registration team.
