Pa Seedy Jammeh, MPH

I completed my MPH at the University of Illinois Springfield, where I gained strong training in public health practice, environmental health, and applied epidemiology. My time at UIS was both academically and professionally enriching.

While at UIS, I worked as a Graduate Hourly Student Assistant in the Office of Engaged Learning, where I developed communication, teamwork, and organizational skills through supporting student engagement activities and daily office operations.

I also completed a GPSI internship as a Vital Records Quality Control Inspector with the Illinois Department of Public Health. This role strengthened my experience in public health data systems, quality control, and surveillance, and deepened my understanding of the importance of accurate data in public health decision-making.

These experiences directly contributed to my professional growth and prepared me for my current role after graduation as a Food/Meat Safety Inspector with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. In this position, I conduct inspections at various food production and processing establishments to ensure compliance with public health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
