Game Recap
The Hawks struck early, building a 3-0 lead within the first 16 minutes before UIS settled into the match. Goalkeeper Makenna Miller made several stops in the opening half, but Quincy's attack proved difficult to contain.
The second half saw a more composed effort from the Prairie Stars, who generated more time in the attacking third. Gigi Yurevich took over in goal, where she made two saves in her half of the game. The match produced just one yellow card, issued to Quincy in the second half.
Madelyn Festerling put UIS on the board in the 78th minute, finishing a pass from Katelynn Ward for her second goal of her freshman season. The Prairie Stars managed one more shot on goal late, but Quincy stayed compact defensively and saw out the victory without pressing for additional offense.
