UIS softball will play its lone matchup of the weekend on Sunday, traveling to face Indianapolis in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. CT (12 p.m. ET).
The Prairie Stars enter at 28-16 overall and 12-10 in GLVC play after splitting with Maryville and dropping two games to No. 19 McKendree last weekend. With three conference games remaining in the regular season, UIS sits tied for seventh in the league standings alongside Drury, with Rockhurst (12-8) and Lewis (10-8) still within reach.
Pitching continues to be a strength for UIS, which ranks second in the GLVC with a 2.24 team ERA—trailing only Indianapolis (1.94). The Prairie Stars have also posted 11 shutouts this season.
Rosie Bartletti leads the staff with a 1.32 ERA and 11-6 record across 90.1 innings, striking out 111 while holding opponents to a .198 average. Calista Stahlhut has provided durability with a team-high 129.1 innings, going 11-7 with a 2.11 ERA and 112 strikeouts, along with 13 complete games. Alexis Carroll adds depth with a 3.30 ERA and 6-2 record over 65.2 innings, striking out 51 and contributing three shutouts.
Offensively, Rosie Bartletti leads the way with a .326 average, 12 doubles, three triples, and 42 stolen bases in 45 attempts. Bailey Masching is hitting .320 and leads the team with four triples, while Rebecca Neupauer has been a key table-setter with a .496 on-base percentage. Emme Steward adds power to the lineup with six home runs and a .538 slugging percentage.
Indianapolis enters the weekend at 47-3 overall and 21-1 in conference play, ranked No. 4 in the latest NFCA poll and already clinching a spot in the GLVC Tournament. The Greyhounds boast the conference's top offense, hitting .332 as a team with six players batting above .300, led by Shelby Cook (.390).
In the circle, UIndy relies heavily on a dominant duo. Caitlin Bunte owns a 1.05 ERA with a 23-1 record, while Cheyenne Eads is 23-2 with a 2.21 ERA and 159 strikeouts.
