Illinois Springfield men's basketball (15-6, 11-2 GLVC) secured an 85-71 victory over Maryville (2-20, 0-14 GLVC) on Thursday night at Moloney Arena. The Prairie Stars' offense was supported by their 12 three-pointers and 23 assists.

UIS started the game with an effective offensive strategy, securing a 40-26 lead by the end of the first half. Isaiah Davis was instrumental, hitting multiple three-pointers. Alex Stell contributed with key assists and rebounds, helping maintain momentum. Maryville managed to keep the score close early on, but the Prairie Stars' bench provided significant support with 14 points in the half, helping to build cushion before the break.

The Prairie Stars maintained its momentum in the second half, executing a series of sharp plays to hold off the Saints. Tye Banks and Jordan Rice collaborated effectively, contributing to an early 11-0 run that widened the advantage. Both teams matched each other with 45 points in the second half, but UIS was comfortably ahead. The game concluded with the Prairie Stars securing a road victory, finishing at 85-71.

Isaiah Davis led the team with 19 points, including five three-pointers, and added two steals. Banks contributed 17 points and secured five rebounds. Rice added nine points, converting five of six free throws, and recorded five assists. Stell posted six assists and collected seven rebounds. The team also recorded nine steals, significantly above their season average of 6.5.

The Prairie Stars hold a 15-6 overall record and are 11-2 in GLVC play. Maryville has a 2-20 overall record and is 0-14 in GLVC competition.
