UIS distance runner Madelyn Miller-Ross was named All-Region in two events during her senior indoor season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The top five individuals on the seasonal performance list from each region earn All-Region distinction in their respective events.
Miller-Ross earned the honor in the 5,000 meters and 3,000 meters. In the 5,000 meters—the event she will contest at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships—she posted the third-fastest time in the Midwest Region this season with a program-record 16:28.26, set at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic on Jan. 31.
She also ranked fourth in the Midwest Region in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:35.05, recorded at the GVSU Big Meet on Feb. 13. Miller-Ross won the 3,000-meter title at the GLVC Indoor Championship, earning her first conference track title.
During the indoor season, Miller-Ross lowered the UIS program record in the 5,000 meters once and broke the school record in the 3,000 meters twice.
Miller-Ross will compete in the 5,000 meters at the national championships Friday at 5:40 p.m. CT in Virginia Beach.
