The UIS men's tennis team fell 6-1 to UMSL on Saturday at home in its regular season finale.

The Prairie Stars dropped a tightly contested doubles point to open the match. The senior duo of Pablo Herrera and Lin En Tan earned a 6-2 win at No. 1, while Miran Todorovic and Kai Van-Roon fell 6-3 at No. 2. At No. 3, Lukas Pieringer and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel dropped a 7-5 decision as UMSL secured the doubles point.

In singles play, Pablo Herrera picked up UIS' lone point with a strong performance at No. 1, winning 6-4, 6-1 in his final singles match. Lin En Tan fell at No. 2, 6-4, 6-2, while Antonio Ayerbe Streubel dropped his match at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2.

Kai Van-Roon fell at No. 4, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3), while Luke Pennington dropped a close match at No. 5, 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6). Lukas Pieringer fell at No. 6, 6-4, 6-3.

Prior to the match, UIS recognized seniors Pablo Herrera and Lin En Tan. Herrera spent four seasons with the Prairie Stars, while Tan competed for three after transferring in. Both were mainstays in the upper part of the lineup and played key roles throughout their careers.
