Dear UIS Campus Community —
Air quality issues related to the Canadian wildfires continue to be a concern in central Illinois. The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued an alert regarding “very unhealthy” air quality and reduced visibility in our region today, with minor improvement expected tomorrow. Individuals with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens should avoid physical activities outdoors if possible, and all others should consider avoiding strenuous outdoor activity and/or moving activities indoors until conditions improve. Indoor air quality in UIS facilities remains safe. You can monitor the outdoor air quality for your location at airnow.gov.
