Julia serves the University of Illinois-Springfield as adjunct faculty in the legal studies department.


Julia is a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois. She works full time for the Fifth District Appellate Court, where she performs legal research, analysis, and legal writing by drafting judicial orders, opinions, and other legal documents. Julia formerly served the Justices of the Illinois Supreme Court as a research attorney. She worked for many years as an assistant appellate prosecutor for the State's Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor, prosecuting criminal cases on appeal.


Julia is the co-editor of the Illinois State Bar Association Criminal Justice Committee Newsletter. She frequently publishes in the Illinois State Bar Association Law Journal and Criminal Justice Section Newsletter.


Julia graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in December 2014. She graduated magna cum laude and served on the Law Journal Board of Editors. She received her bachelors degree from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, in English Literature.


Julia is an avid runner and serves as volunteer assistant coach to the University of Illinois-Springfield cross country and track teams. She resides in Springfield, Illinois, with her husband and two sons.
