Frantz Kjoniksen enjoys a career as both a violinist and a violist. Frantz started playing the violin at the age of 9 through their public-school program and later started learning the viola at the age of 16. They’ve earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from UMass Amherst under the guidance of Professor Elizabeth Chang, and are currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with Dr. Salley Koo. Frantz has played with ensembles such as the Keene Chamber Orchestra, Berkshire Symphony Orchestra, Danville Symphony Orchestra and is currently a member of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra. As a lover of musical theater, Frantz has had the privilege of performing with theater companies in New England such as the Berkshire Theatre Group. Frantz also serves as the Operations Associate for the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival and enjoys cooking and being outside in nature.
