Action Required: Cybersecurity Incident Response
UIS experienced a cybersecurity incident this week. While this incident was caught quickly and intervention took place immediately, we are acting in an abundance of caution with 3 immediate actions.
Because incidents like this can have far-reaching effects, these actions allow us to safeguard everyone's account.
- All users will be required to reset their password. For help resetting your password, please see https://www.uis.edu/its/services-uis/netid-password
- VPN access will be required to connect to Citrix. For help installing and connecting to the VPN, please see https://help.uillinois.edu/TDClient/38/uis/KB/ArticleDet?ID=2224
- All VPN and Citrix connections will require two-factor authentication (2FA). For help signing up for 2FA, please see https://answers.uillinois.edu/internal/page.php?id=65940
- When connecting to the VPN, you will be prompted for a second password. Enter 'push' to send a push token to the DUO app on your phone, enter 'sms' to send a text message to your phone, or enter 'phone' to call your phone. Do not enter the quotes.
