The Illinois Springfield women's track and field team competed at the Jim Vargo Invitational on Friday evening, with three runners earning top-10 finishes in the 5,000 meters, including Kaleigh Inniss. The UIS women's track and field team is set to compete at the Jim Vargo Invite in Louisville this weekend, with the action beginning at 4:15 p.m. Central on Friday and continuing at 11:00 a.m. Central on Saturday. Entries On Friday evening, Emma Leahy and Marissa Roggensack will race in the 1500 meters, followed by Lillian Buzani, Josslyn Gaona, Kaleigh Inniss, and Jordan Serrahn in the 5,000 meters.

Elaine Grant has been named the GLVC Women's Golf Player of the Week after earning her first collegiate victory at the Flyers Spring Invitational. Grant led the Prairie Stars with rounds of 73 and 74, finishing with a total score of 147 (+3) to claim the individual title. Her steady play was crucial to UIS placing sixth as a team. In the opening round, she recorded 15 pars and a birdie for a 73 (+1), followed by a consistent final round with 16 pars to post a 74 (+2).

The UIS baseball team travels to Fayette, Iowa, this week for a four-game GLVC series against Upper Iowa, featuring two of the GLVC's top-performing teams as of late. Both squads have reached 10 GLVC wins this season and will face off at Robertson Woods Field, beginning with a single game on Friday at 2:00 p.m., a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., and concluding with the series finale on Sunday at noon.
