    UIS Women's Soccer Battles Hard In Close Match Against Maryville

    UIS women's soccer fell to Maryville on Friday at Kiwanis Stadium by a score of 2-1, now holding a record of 3-7-3, 2-6-2 in conference play. 
Despite a defensive start, the Prairie Stars earned three corner kicks in the first half. The UIS defense, anchored by goalkeeper Gigi Yurevich, held firm and prevented the Saints from capitalizing on their lone shot by Gina Catanzaro, which went wide left in the 27th minute.
The Prairie Stars maintained a strong defensive stance, preserving the scoreless tie heading into the halftime break.

    Prairie Stars Open Midwest Regional Crossover With Win Over Lake Superior State

    The Illinois Springfield volleyball team opened the Midwest Regional Crossover with a 3-1 victory over Lake Superior State on Friday afternoon.
The first set was point-for-point nearly the entire way, with the teams tied 24-24 late. UIS took the lead after a Lakers attack error and a Kaitlyn Taylor service ace, then finished the 27-25 set on back-to-back kills by Madison Siefken. The Prairie Stars held a 15-12 edge in kills in the frame, with five service aces helping secure the early advantage.

    Experts to discuss impact of 2025 government shutdown at UIS panel

    WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield invites the public to a virtual lunch-and-learn panel discussion, “What You Voters Need to Know About the 2025 Government Shutdown.” The event will feature UIS faculty members Matt Geras, John Transue, Patty Byrnes and Ty Dooley, who will examine the causes and consequences of the ongoing partial government shutdown.     Crane Onsite 10/21 for LRH/FRH Roofing Project

    The roofing contractor will have a crane on site Tuesday morning, October 21, to place materials on the roof. The crane will be positioned on the west side of Founders, just off Eliza Farnham Drive. The bus stop on that corner will remain open and accessible. The red rectangle on the included image indicates the approximate location for the crane. Please use caution if you need to travel near the residence hall. Construction zones and equipment placement areas will be marked to assist with navigation and ensure safety.  | 
              
    UIS Men’s Tennis Set to Compete at Dwight Davis College Open

    The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team is headed to St. Louis this weekend to compete in the Dwight Davis College Open, held October 17-19 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park. The Prairie Stars will take part in both singles and doubles action beginning Friday evening. Each singles and doubles starting draw is listed below in order of flight.
