Miller-Ross Named GLVC Runner of the Week After Record-Setting Win

Illinois Springfield senior cross country runner Madelyn Miller-Ross has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Runner of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. Miller-Ross claimed the individual title at the 10th Annual UIS Prairie Stars Invitational on Sept. 5, finishing first in a field of 88 runners. She posted a personal-best time of 18:01.07, setting a new UIS Cross Country Course women's 5K record and leading the Prairie Stars to the team championship with 19 points.

Hudson’s Late Goals Lift UIS Men's Soccer to First Win of Season

The UIS men's soccer team defeated Purdue Northwest with a decisive 3-1 victory at Kiwanis Stadium on Wednesday night, marking its first win of the season and improving its all-time record against PNW to 2-2-1. Impressively, all goal scoring occurred from the 75th minute onward. The opening 45 minutes featured few clear chances, with UIS holding stretches of possession but unable to break through. Cameron Fyre and Leul Mehari each had shots that went off target, and the match remained scoreless at halftime.

UIS Women’s Soccer Earns First Win of Season Against Ohio Dominican

The Illinois Springfield women's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2025 season on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Ohio Dominican 2-0 at Kiwanis Stadium.
