Ben Paoletti came to UIS with an interest in civic engagement. He is a resident assistant for the Leadership for Life Service Program in Lincoln Residence Hall. Ben has also become the vice president of the Alternative Spring Break student organization. In March, he traveled to Houston, Texas with a group of 21 UIS students as part of Alternative Spring Break to clean up Hurricane Harvey damage. |

Navie is an avid resource for those in his community. He spends his time outside of class volunteering and serving as president of the Black Male Collegiate Society at UIS. Every other Friday, Navie spends an hour mentoring his “little brother” at Springfield’s Matheny-Withrow Elementary School through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. |
