The Illinois Springfield women's cross country team has earned a spot in the NCAA Division II Midwest regional coaches' rankings, released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This marks the first time in program history that the Prairie Stars have been ranked in the regional coaches' poll.

The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced Tuesday that Illinois Springfield senior Madelyn Miller-Ross has been named the GLVC/Athletic Solutions Women's Runner of the Week in cross country.

The UIS men's golf team is tied for ninth place after the first two rounds of the Midwest Collegiate at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Ind. The 54-hole tournament concludes with a final round on Tuesday.

UIS posted two rounds of 304 on Monday for a 36-hole total of 608 strokes, even with Cedarville. Tiffin leads the 17-team field at 578.

The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team wrapped up three days of competition at the ITA Regional in Allendale, Mich., with a flight victory and two consolation titles on Monday. Kai Van-Roon headlined the final day by winning the Flight C Singles championship match. Van Roon defeated Wayne State's Gunnar Warren 6-2, 7-5 in the title match.
