    Spring 2023 Course Previews: Undergraduate Online 
     Dec 02, 2022 Undergraduates will have the opportunity to take the learning online in the Spring semester and take the courses in history offered remotely. Dr. Barnwell will be teaching an online segment of her HIS 375, ECCE: Conflict in the Middle East. This course covers the history of several conflicts in the Middle East over the 20th century and makes connections between past events and current events in the Middle East. Students who have taken this course in the past have remarked “I thoroughly enjoyed this course and I have learned a lot about the topic. The layout of the course was great. |

     Dec 01, 2022 On Sunday, December 4 from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm, Administrative Information Technology Services (AITS) will be performing mandatory quarterly maintenance on all production Solaris and Linux servers. This maintenance necessitates Banner and related applications to be unavailable during this timeframe. |

    UIS Theatre presents Student Directed Scenes
     Nov 29, 2022 The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Theatre Program invitees the public to attend Student Directed Scenes, an interesting variety pack of scenes from contemporary American plays. Student Directed Scenes offers two opportunities to view students’ final projects in the course Directing for the Theatre (THE 476). Student Directed Scenes will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 and Friday, Dec. 2 in the Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center building at UIS. Admission is free. |

    Natacia Vicenteno of Chicago awarded a $8,000 scholarship from the University of Illinois Springfield
     Nov 28, 2022 Natacia Vicenteno of Chicago, a senior at Alcott High School for the Humanities, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $8,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over two years. At UIS, she will major in pre-nursing. The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of two years if the student maintains college GPA requirements. At Alcott High School, she is involved in art club and GSA-Gay Straight Alliance. |
