The UIS women's golf team competed in stroke play at the GLVC Championship at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill., on Friday and Saturday. The Prairie Stars started strong and remained among the top four teams after 54 holes, securing a spot in Sunday's medal/match play semifinals. The Prairie Stars were led by All-GLVC athlete Elaine Grant, who was fourth overall.

The UIS athletic department is now accepting nominations for the 2026 class of the Prairie Stars Hall of Fame. Nominations will be accepted through September 1, 2025.

UIS softball is headed on the road to close out the regular season with back-to-back noon doubleheaders—Saturday at Upper Iowa and Sunday at Lewis. The UIS baseball team is listed among the programs under consideration in the first NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings of the 2025 season, released Wednesday evening. This week's rankings are presented alphabetically, with UIS among nine teams recognized in a competitive Midwest Region field.

The Illinois Springfield women's tennis team will wrap up its GLVC regular season this weekend with home matches against conference foes Indianapolis and McKendree. Match Details & Locations Due to forecasted rain, Friday's match against No. 25 Indianapolis has been moved indoors to the Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center at 2:00 p.m. Saturday's match versus McKendree is set for 11:00 a.m. at Chatham Glenwood High School.
