Prairie Stars Push Hawks but Fall in Four Sets

The Illinois Springfield volleyball team pushed one of the GLVC's top programs on Saturday afternoon, taking a set off Rockhurst in a competitive 3-1 loss at TRAC. Set scores were 26-24, 25-12, 16-25, and 25-19, with UIS winning the third set in dominant fashion. The Prairie Stars move to 7-9 overall and 1-5 in GLVC play, while the Hawks remain unbeaten in conference action at 12-5, 5-0.

Seth Masters Joins UIS Baseball Staff as Assistant Coach

The Illinois Springfield baseball program has added former standout pitcher Seth Masters to its coaching staff. Masters joins the Prairie Stars as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season and will serve as a graduate assistant with a focus on pitching.

The Prairie Stars snapped their recent skid and looked sharp across all phases, winning by set scores of 26-24, 25-14, and 25-15. UIS improves to 7-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play with the win.

UIS Men’s Tennis Defeats Chicago State

The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team earned an impressive win over Division I opponent Chicago State on Friday in fall action.
The Prairie Stars claimed the doubles point after winning two of three matchups. Lin En Tan and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel fell in a close 6-4 contest at No. 1 doubles, but Pablo Herrera and Kai Van-Roon answered with a 6-4 win at No. 2. UIS also secured the No. 3 doubles match by default, as Chicago State did not field a team.
