Samuel Moore of Moweaqua awarded a $28,000 scholarship from the University of Illinois Springfield

Samuel Moore of Moweaqua, a senior at Central A&M High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $28,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, he will major in accounting. The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements. At Central A&M High School, he is a member of the student council, student government, National Honor Society and the scholastic bowl team. |

Marie Watson, associate director of student life, received the Inspiring Vision Award for mid-level professionals. |

The Alpha Alpha Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education, at the University of Illinois Springfield inducted 12 new members during a ceremony in the Studio Union on Sunday, Nov. 6. Julie Hoffman, a Springfield Public Schools teacher and adjunct professor at UIS, was the guest speaker. |
