New UIS Institute for Race, Gender, Sexuality and Social Justice to serve as a community resource

The University of Illinois Springfield is establishing a new Institute for Race, Gender, Sexuality and Social Justice as part of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The mission of the new institute is to offer academic programs, develop community partnerships and outreach, and conduct research to help address social justice issues in central Illinois and beyond. |
Fire Alarm System Inspections Beginning July 5

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff, Facilities and Services will oversee the inspection of fire alarm systems during the week of July 3rd. This is primarily a visual inspection, but there will be brief, intermittent activations of alarm horns and strobe lights as part of inspection procedures. |

Dear students and colleagues, We have received information that the personal data of many of our students was accessed in a global cyberattack. As reported by the news media, various institutions were targeted in a May 31 ransomware attack, including well-known information technology and accounting firms. University of Illinois System computers were not compromised in this event. |
