Mackenzie Scroggins awarded an $8,000 scholarship to attend the University of Illinois Springfield

Mackenzie Scroggins of Greenview, Illinois, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2025 and awarded an $8,000 Star Scholar Award for tuition over two years. At UIS, she will major in pre-nursing. The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed if the student maintains college GPA requirements. In high school, she was involved in volleyball, track and field, scholastics bowl, STEM club, yearbook and the National Honor Society. |
UIS Men’s Basketball Holds on for 68-67 Win Over Southwest Baptist

The always entertaining matchup between the Illinois Springfield and Southwest Baptist men's basketball teams ended in a 68-67 victory for UIS on Thursday night at SBU. Evan Altman and Max Kunnert shared scoring duties in the win, totaling 22 and 20 points, respectively. UIS improved to 8-8 overall and 3-5 in GLVC play, while SBU dropped to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in conference action.

UIS Women’s Basketball Narrowly Falls to Southwest Baptist, 81-78

The Illinois Springfield women's basketball team came up just short in a thrilling game against Southwest Baptist, falling 81-78 in Bolivar, Mo., on Thursday night. The game was led by Kayla Rice, who dropped a career-high 28 points, with Niyah Udoiwod chipping in 21, nearing her personal best.

Businesses and organizations are invited to take part in the UIS Career Connections Expo

Businesses and organizations are encouraged to register for the Career Connections Expo at the University of Illinois Springfield. The Expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, at the Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) on the UIS campus.In addition to the Expo, registered employers are invited to participate in a pre-Expo networking event called the C2C (College to Career) Exchange, which will give them the opportunity to connect with faculty and staff before the Expo begins. |
