Guidelines and Instructions for Applying for CSAC Professional Development Funding for FY 2026
The Civil Service Advisory Council (CSAC) is pleased to announce that FY2026 funding has been made available to assist Civil Service Employees (CS) at UIS with professional development. Any CS employee employed with a 50% (minimum) appointment may apply for up to $1,200 to use toward any aspect of past or future professional development occurring during the 2026 fiscal year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026). |
HSB 3rd Floor Renovations Begin Sept. 8

Renovations will begin on September 8 on the 3rd floor of HSB to create a Centralized Lab Equipment Facility. Rooms 329 and 330 will be transformed into a shared space for housing lab instruments accessible to all labs within HSB. Project completion is expected in February 2026. UIS Women’s Soccer Falls 3-0 to West Alabama

The Illinois Springfield women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to West Alabama on Sunday afternoon, falling to 0-1-1 after the opening week of the season. The Tigers struck early, breaking through in the 13th minute on a goal from Selis Demirci. Tiana Trahan doubled the lead just after halftime, and Emily Callahan added an insurance goal in the 68th minute. |
UIS Men’s Soccer Battles to 2-2 Draw with No. 7 Saginaw Valley State

The UIS men's soccer team earned a 2-2 draw against No. 7-ranked Saginaw Valley State on Sunday afternoon at Kiwanis Stadium.
The Prairie Stars came out strong, building a 2-0 lead in the first half. Corne Boshoff converted a penalty kick in the 12th minute, and Adam Knaze followed with a goal in the 23rd minute to give UIS an early cushion against the nationally ranked opponent.
