UIS service trip to Guatemala builds lasting impact for students and local community

A team of students, alumni and staff from the University of Illinois Springfield traveled to Antigua, Guatemala, this spring as part of an international service trip. Partnering with ImagininGuatemala, a small non-governmental organization, the group spent four days helping build a home for a family in need. ImagininGuatemala works with volunteer teams to construct housing in the villages surrounding Antigua. The organization also provides access to food, clean water, education and health services. |

Three Prairie Stars Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors in Baseball

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District baseball teams have been announced, with three Prairie Stars earning the honor for their combined success on the field and in the classroom in 2025.
Mark Kattula, Mack Clark, and Adam Lindsey were selected as the honorees from UIS. Kattula advances to the CSC Academic All-America ballot based on his exceptional athletic achievements during the 2025 season.
