UIS Volleyball Heads to SBU and Drury for GLVC Road Weekend

The Illinois Springfield volleyball team returns to GLVC play this weekend after a strong showing at the Midwest Regional Crossover Tournament. The Prairie Stars will face Southwest Baptist on Friday, Oct. 24 at 6:00 p.m. in Bolivar, Mo., before heading to Springfield, Mo., to take on Drury on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 3:00 p.m. Both matches will stream live on GLVCSN, with live stats available online.

UIS Men’s Indoor Track and Field Ranked 10th in GLVC Preseason Poll

The Illinois Springfield men's indoor track and field team was picked 10th in the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced Wednesday.
Lewis was selected as the preseason favorite to win the conference title after receiving nine first-place votes and 141 total points. Rounding out the top five in the poll were Lincoln, Indianapolis, Missouri S&T, and Southwest Baptist.

Carmen Llopis Fabra Named NCAA Woman of the Year Top 30 Finalist

University of Illinois Springfield alumna Carmen Llopis Fabra has been named one of the Top 30 honorees for the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, placing her among the top 10 student-athletes from NCAA Division II.
The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors graduating female student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics, service, and leadership throughout their collegiate careers. This year's Top 30 were selected from a record-breaking 631 nominees representing all three NCAA divisions.

UIS Women’s Indoor Track and Field Ranked Ninth in GLVC Preseason Poll

The Illinois Springfield women's indoor track and field team was picked ninth in the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced Wednesday. Lewis was voted as the preseason favorite to win the conference title after collecting 12 first-place votes and 168 total points. The Flyers have won six consecutive GLVC Championships and 12 overall. Lincoln, UIndy, Southwest Baptist, and Maryville rounded out the top five. |
