Message from the Chancellor: Non-Tenure Track Faculty Union Bargaining Update

3.10.25 Dear students, faculty and staff: The UPI Local 4100 Non-Tenure Track Faculty Union, which represents 43 non-tenure-track faculty, delivered a Notice of Intent to Strike on March 7 prior to receiving the University’s latest proposal. While this action means that the union can opt to strike any time after a 10-day waiting period, no sooner than March 17, it does not mean that a strike will occur. |

UIS Softball Erupts for 27 Runs in Doubleheader Sweep of Quincy

The llinois Springfield softball team swept the Quincy Hawks in dominant fashion Sunday. The Prairie Stars (12-9, 2-2 GLVC) erupted for a 20-0 run-rule victory in five innings in game one, then rallied late to take the second game, 7-5.

Prairie Stars Drop 19-9 Decision to Lewis

The Illinois Springfield baseball team came up short in a 19-9 loss to Lewis on Sunday in a game that featured plenty of offensive firepower. With the win, Lewis ensured a series split at the start of conference play for the Prairie Stars and the Flyers. UIS now holds a record of 7-7, 2-2 GLVC, while Lewis moves to 7-5, 2-2 GLVC.
