Each trip is led by a trained and experienced trip leader. No prior experience or personal equipment is necessary. Just bring an open mind and a sense of adventure!

Trips are open to active students paying the General Fee. Due to limited space, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and students may only register themselves for each trip.

To reserve your spot, visit the TRAC front desk to register and provide payment if required. More details will be added to UIS Connection.

Spring 2026 Adventures

Hike at Lick Creek | Friday, April 10

Join Campus Recreation for a fun hike not far from campus. You’ll hike through the woods and see parts of Lake Springfield and the creeks that flow from it. No experience necessary. Cost is $5 and includes transportation.

Cave Tour and Camping at Indiana Caverns | April 17-19

Join Campus Recreation for a weekend camping trip that includes a cave tour at Indiana Caverns. Cost is $20 and includes camping equipment, cave tour, and transportation. Students will be responsible for their own food on the trip.

Canoe/Kayak at Sugar Creek | Saturday, April 25

Join Campus Recreation for a canoe/kayak trip on Lake Springfield! No experience necessary and all equipment will be provided.

Join Campus Recreation for a standup paddleboard experience on Lake Springfield! No experience necessary, and all equipment will be provided. There will be multiple trips and times throughout the week.
