The University of Illinois Springfield recently hosted its first ever TEDx event on March 20, 2021.  The theme of the event was Bridging the Gap and was a way to bring together the UIS community with the Springfield community.  

I am working as the Grant Administrator Intern in the Office of Grant Management and Assistance (OGMA) at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR).  I assist grant administrators in database management who handle the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) via the State of Illinois portal.  I also work on frequent changes/enhancements to both internal and external facing IDNR webpages by working closely with the Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT).

I am working as a Graduate Assistant for the BBA and MBA departments and it has been a great journey since 2019.

Ho Chi Minh City is the new workplace for Adella Nguyen.  She was recently employed by Shopee, one of the biggest e-commerce companies in South East Asia, as a Strategic Partnership Associate. She writes that she is excited to have a chance to apply her knowledge from her major and her favorite industry–Marketing.

The University of Illinois Springfield Music Program and the Illinois Symphony Orchestra (ISO) have joined forces in a new Partnership in Education and Civic Engagement [PEACE]. The partnership is intended to enrich the cultural, educational and career-training opportunities of UIS students, to enhance music education in the Springfield-area and to extend the reach of both organizations into the community.
