UIS names Drew Schlosser assistant vice chancellor for human resources

The University of Illinois Springfield has named Drew Schlosser assistant vice chancellor for human resources, effective Jan. 16. Schlosser brings over a decade of experience in higher education human resources, specializing in labor and employee relations. He currently serves as the Associate Director of Employee Relations & HR for the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Facilities and Services Office, where he oversees human resources operations for more than 1,400 employees. |

Illinois Springfield travels for a midweek matchup against Purdue Northwest on Wednesday, Dec. 18, followed by a tough test against Grand Valley State on Friday, Dec. 20.

The Prairie Stars aim to stay undefeated against Purdue Northwest, holding a 2-0 all-time record, including an 85-76 win last December. UIS comes off a narrow 70-64 home loss to Kentucky Wesleyan, where the Stars shot 40.9% from the field but struggled from deep at 28.6%. |
Lexie Richardson awarded a $12,000 scholarship to attend the University of Illinois Springfield

Lexie Richardson of Greenview, Illinois, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2025 and awarded a $12,000 Star Scholar Award for tuition over two years. At UIS, she will major in pre-nursing. The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed if the student maintains college GPA requirements. In high school, she was involved in volleyball, cheerleading, track and field, yearbook, chorus, scholastic bowl and the National Honors Society. |
