Swag and Apparel
Strong, consistent University of Illinois Springfield branding on apparel and merchandise helps elevate our visibility and pride. To ensure accuracy, correct trademark use, and overall quality, all items must be produced by a licensed vendor. These approved vendors understand UIS brand standards and can help you create designs that reflect our identity with confidence and consistency.
Uses could include:
- Promotional items for recruitment or tradeshows
- Apparel for employees (Ex., polo shirts, quarter zips, pins, etc.)
- Gifts for speakers or guests
Licensed vendors
Licensing of vendors is an application process initiated by the vendor with our licensing partner CLC. Vendors interested in becoming licensed can learn more from CLC.
License Types
Trademark use on merchandise and apparel is either for internal use (not for resale, for use by employees or students) or for retail use (for personal use internally or by the public and/or for resale). Vendors should ask you about your use case in order to use the correct approach to producing items, and the use is reviewed by Marketing within the CLC dashboard, along with approving the creative.
Process
Units should work directly with a licensed vendor to bid, set up and produce trademarked merchandise and apparel paid for and used by their unit.
Approval
UIS partners with Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) to license vendors and monitor use of our trademarks to protect the university’s reputation. Licensed vendors submit proposed designs through a dashboard for approval by Marketing.
Logos
University and unit logos are available for download on the Logos page. If you are unable to find a logo to send to a vendor, email Marketing for assistance: marketing@uis.edu.
