UIS faculty members receive awards for teaching, excellence and service

The University of Illinois Springfield held a Faculty Honors Reception on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Interim Chancellor Karen Whitney and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost Dennis Papini presided over the ceremony. Four major awards – the Pearson Faculty Award, the Spencer Faculty Service Award, the Faculty Excellence Award and the Burks Oakley II Distinguished Online Teaching Award - were presented. |

UIS, faculty reach tentative contract agreement

In a joint statement from the University of Illinois Springfield Administration and the UIS United Faculty parties say, “The University of Illinois Springfield and UIS United Faculty have reached a tentative agreement on the terms of a four-year contract (Aug. 16, 2021-Aug. 15, 2025) for the UIS United Faculty collective bargaining unit, representing 134 tenure and tenure-track faculty. |
UIS announces May commencement plans

The University of Illinois Springfield announced plans for two commencement ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, May 14. Commencement is happening at the Bank of Springfield Center, located at Ninth and Adams streets in downtown Springfield. The school said 622 people will be in the ceremonies out of 1,131 students eligible to graduate. |

The University of Illinois Springfield will hold two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Bank of Springfield (BOS) Center, Ninth and Adams Streets in downtown Springfield. Of the 1,131 UIS students eligible to graduate, 622 will participate in the ceremonies. The first ceremony for students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will begin at 12:30 p.m. The second ceremony for students in the College of Business and Management, College of Education and Human Services and College of Public Affairs and Administration will start at 5:30 p.m. |
