WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield AI Campus Learning Community and the Center for Faculty Excellence will host an event on artificial intelligence (AI) bias. This event aims to shed light on the issue of bias in AI by adopting an interdisciplinary approach and is free and open to the public. There will also be a complementary buffet lunch.

The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery is pleased to present “Junk Drawer,” an exhibition by Champaign-based artist Guen Montgomery. “Junk Drawer” will open on Monday, March 18 and run through Thursday, April 11.

The University of Illinois-Springfield (UIS) School of Education has been awarded a $145,000 grant.

The grant is from Grow Your Own Teachers (GYO) to develop a consortium aimed at addressing teacher shortages in central Illinois. The grant, titled “Future Ready Teaching: Thinking Critically, Acting Boldly and Inspiring Brilliance,” seeks to empower and cultivate a pipeline of skilled, critically minded, and committed teachers.
