Prairie Stars Fall in Three Sets at UMSL

The UIS volleyball team fell 3-0 to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night on the road. The Prairie Stars move to 6-7 overall and 0-3 in GLVC play. UIS started strong in the opening set, taking a 5-2 lead before UMSL went on a decisive 12-2 run. The Tritons' defense limited UIS to a negative hitting percentage, and UMSL closed the frame 25-13. |
Michele Gribbins named UIS Employee of the Month for October 2025

Michele Gribbins, associate provost for institutional research and effectiveness, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for October 2025. During her time at UIS, Gribbins has held numerous roles and has handled difficult and important tasks with ease. “She is a wealth of information and institutional history,” her nominator said. Gribbins’ nominator complimented her ability to work successfully across multiple divisions on campus. |

Prairie Stars Men’s Soccer Hosts Drury and Missouri S&T at Kiwanis Stadium

The Illinois Springfield men's soccer team returns home this weekend for two GLVC matchups. The Prairie Stars face Drury on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before hosting Missouri S&T on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
On Friday, UIS will celebrate Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night at soccer. UIS faculty and staff members invited by student-athletes will be recognized before each game. This tradition gives student-athletes the chance to thank professors and campus staff who have made an impact on their lives.
