Chelsey Chambless of Linden, Michigan, a senior at Linden High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $16,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, she will major in chemistry and play on the women’s soccer team.The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.

ITS will be shutting down the UIS Skype for Business server on December 16, 2022. Microsoft has been migrating Skype for Business functionality to Microsoft Teams and plans to no longer support Skype for Business.

Please note that this has no impact on Skype; Skype for Business is a separate service.

The UIS History Department served as co-host, with the National Council on Public History and the National Park Service, of the keynote address for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site 50th Anniversary Symposium. Renowned public history leader Christy Coleman of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation delivered the address on October 21, 2022.
