UIS professor helps osprey bird population growth in Illinois

A professor from the University of Illinois Springfield has played a key role in helping to increase the osprey bird population across the state. UIS Associate Professional Tih-Fen Ting, director of the School of Integrated Sciences, Sustainability and Public Health, and others began their work on this cause in 2013. Since then, Illinois’ osprey bird population has grown from 16 known breeding pairs to 90 pairs in 2023. |
