The UIS men's soccer team fell 3-2 to Missouri S&T in a thrilling Great Lakes Valley Conference matchup on Sunday afternoon at Kiwanis Stadium. The Prairie Stars drop to 2-6-2 overall and 1-5-1 in GLVC play, while the Miners improved to 5-3-1 overall and 3-3-0 in conference play.

The Illinois Springfield volleyball team fell 3-1 to McKendree on Saturday afternoon in Lebanon, Ill., dropping to 6-8 overall and 0-4 in GLVC play. "I am very proud of the resilience this group is showing through a tough couple of injury-ridden weeks." said Coach Ulrich. "They are still learning and growing and I'm grateful to work alongside side a group that works hard through adversity."

The UIS women's tennis team wrapped up a strong weekend of competition at the ITA Midwest Regional, highlighted by Alisha Deogaonkar's run to the Flight C singles semifinals. Singles Deogaonkar opened play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Tiffin's Ashley Reinhart, then battled back for a 1-6, 6-3, [10-8] win against Sydney Singh of Hillsdale in the Round of 16. She advanced to the semifinals after defeating McKendree's Diana Calzada 6-3, 6-3, and will face Roosevelt's Lara Sener on Monday morning.

The UIS women's golf team will travel to Owensboro, Ky., to compete in the Bill Crabtree Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 5, and Monday, Oct. 6. The two-round event will be played at The Pearl Club and is hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan College. UIS will face a competitive field that includes Young Harris, Maryville (Mo.), McKendree, Kentucky Wesleyan, Thomas More, and John A. Logan. The Prairie Stars' lineup features Fizreen Ahmadfadzir, Yi-Ting Hsieh, Valentina Torrealba, Lia Rody, and Elaine Grant.

The UIS volleyball team fell 3-0 to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night on the road. The Prairie Stars move to 6-7 overall and 0-3 in GLVC play.

UIS started strong in the opening set, taking a 5-2 lead before UMSL went on a decisive 12-2 run. The Tritons' defense limited UIS to a negative hitting percentage, and UMSL closed the frame 25-13.
