The student commencement speaker is an important tradition for UIS.  All graduating students are invited to audition for this honor and responsibility.  Auditions will be scheduled for ZOOM one week after the deadline.  Speeches for the audition should be no longer than five minutes and should be presented in their entirety.

The UIS Center for State Policy and Leadership and the Community Health Roundtable hosted, “A Long and Winding Road: How COVID-19 Has Evolved and How the Current Wave of Infections is Affecting Patients and the People and Institutions Who Care for Them.”

 Last year the University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team had one its best season in program history. Head coach Casey Thousand and the Prairie Stars made it a goal to achieve even more success this season and that's exactly what they did.

Dr. Richard Gilman-Opalsky is a professor of political science at the University of Illinois Springfield. He sat down with Community Voices to discuss his career and provided insight into what we can learn from riots. He also shared his experience presenting at the TEDx presentation held at the UIS campus and his love of jazz music.

No. 20 the University of Illinois Springfield baseball team hosted Saginaw Valley State in the Prairie Stars home opener Saturday.

UIS scored 14 runs in the seventh and eighth innings. Bobby Barnard led the team with four hits. Brandon Bannon recorded four RBI.
