Each month, UIS has a guest column spot in The State Journal-Register. I was given the opportunity to write this month’s entry about the Public Affairs Reporting program's 50-year anniversary.

⁦Aside from getting to see my byline again in the newspaper where I spent 21 years of my life, I was happy that Mike Kienzler, a member of the first PAR class in 1972-1973, shared some memories from his days as a student and reporting intern at the Capitol.

We are delighted to announce participants for the 2023 Professional Staff Leadership Academy (PSLA). PSLA is designed to foster a culture of dynamic and transformational leadership for academic professional and professional civil service staff throughout the University of Illinois System.

The University of Illinois Springfield will host six Engaged Citizenship Common Experience (ECCE) Speaker Series events during Spring Semester 2023. The series presents events that promote and adhere to the value of engaged citizenship, cultural awareness and respect for diversity.

I am pleased to share with you the members of the search committee tasked with helping UIS select the next Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost. Thank you to each of these individuals for volunteering their time for this very important search.

The Office of Web Services has updated the site to a new administrative theme! Claro, provides a clear admin user interface, with a more modern look and feel. The new design "defines a complete set of principals, patterns, and tools for building a coherent and user-friendly Drupal administrative user interface" .  The initiative to update the administrative theme is to make Drupal compatible with decoupled applications and to make browsing easier for end users.
