Isaac Cortes recorded a personal-best performance in the men's 5,000-meter run on Thursday morning at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Cal. Competing in Heat 4 of the event, Cortes placed fifth out of 24 runners with a time of 14:27.56, shaving five seconds off his previous best.
