The UIS men's track and field team delivered a strong showing at the Lewis Invite, highlighted by a new indoor school record in the 4x400-meter relay.

The UIS women's track & field team delivered several standout performances at the Lewis Invite on Friday night, highlighted by Madelyn Miller's historic mile run. Miller became the first UIS runner to break the 5-minute barrier in the indoor mile with a time of 4:57.00, marking a new milestone for the program. Her performance currently ranks No. 55 in NCAA Division II as of Friday night.

The UIS baseball team was picked sixth with 124 points in the GLVC Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches. Per conference rules, coaches are not permitted to vote for their own teams. Indianapolis was selected as the preseason favorite, earning 12 first-place votes and 194 total points after winning the GLVC regular-season title last year and making back-to-back NCAA World Series appearances. The UIS softball team is set to compete in the Alvy Early Memorial Classic this weekend in Bentonville, Ark. The Prairie Stars will open play on Friday against Central Missouri at 11:00 a.m., followed by a matchup with Northwest Missouri State at 1:30 p.m. On Saturday, UIS will take on Washburn at 11:00 a.m. before wrapping up the tournament against Missouri Southern at 1:30 p.m.

The Illinois Springfield women's basketball team built a commanding first-half lead, but McKendree stormed back in the second half to take a 77-70 victory on Thursday night at TRAC. The Bearcats improved to 12-8, 8-6 in the GLVC while UIS slipped to 5-17, 4-10.
