UIS Green Fee Committee
- Each academic year, six to eight at-large student members will be appointed to the UIS Green Fee Committee.
- We have two open seats for the 2026/2027 academic year. Applications are due at midnight on Tuesday 9/15/2026. Please use our Green Fee Committee Application Form to apply. (You will need your cover letter and resume. This form will close on 9/15/2026 at 12AM.)

UIS Campus Sustainability Projects Coordinator
- Each Fall semester, UIS students can apply to be one of the Campus Sustainability Projects Coordinators. Two part-time (20 hours/week) positions are available. There are currently no available positions. Contact Dr. Styles (mstyl2@uis.edu) if you have questions about future job opportunities.
Submit a Green Project Proposal
- Students have the opportunity to submit a Green Project Proposal.

October 12, 2026
Letters of Intent are due no later than 10 P.M.
Complete the online Green Projects LOI form and submit your Letter of Intent. Use the LOI template provided on the Submit a Green Project Proposal page.
Week of October 24, 2026
Green Fee Committee meets to review submitted Letters of Intent. All applicants will receive constructive feedback on their submissions. Selected proposal authors will be invited to develop full project proposals. The Green Fee Committee and the Campus Sustainability Projects Coordinators will help LOI authors develop their ideas into feasible and effective green projects between 10/24/2026 and 11/9/2026.
November 9, 2026
Full project proposals due no later than 10 P.M.
Complete the online full project proposal form and submit your UIS Green Project Proposal. Use the Full Proposal template provided on the Submit a Green Project Proposal page. This link will be live starting October 12, 2026 and will close November 9, 2026.
Do not submit a Full Project Proposal unless your LOI has been approved by the GFC.
Week of November 20, 2025
Student Green Fee Committee reviews proposals and votes on which Green Projects to implement in Spring 2026. Applicants will receive a notice from the Committee Chair about whether or not their project has been funded. Communications will be sent no later than one week after decisions have been finalized.
