​Parking Operations is a self-sustaining operation that receives no funding from tuition or the State of Illinois. Revenue is generated from the fees collected through parking hang tag sales, parking violations, event parking, and meter/pay station receipts. All revenue is applied to the operation and maintenance of the parking infrastructure. Parking Operations is responsible for all matters related to parking, including parking hang tag fees, parking signs, and the enforcement of parking regulations.

Please note that due to construction projects, the listed parking lot is closed for the near future. Use our parking maps (links below) to find an alternative parking lot.

Lot D Renovation Complete

Parking Operations has completed more than $1 million in upgrades to Parking Lot D, including a new surface, improved traffic flow and accessibility, and upgraded LED lighting. These improvements bring Lot D in line with the standard of other premium campus parking lots and provide a safer, more convenient parking experience.

Lot D Now Available as a Standard Permit Lot

Following these improvements, Lot D is now classified as a Standard permit lot and is available for parking. Permit sales open Aug. 4 for the new academic year. Before selecting a permit type, we encourage you to review the UIS campus map and choose the lot that best aligns with your regular campus destination.

Motorcycle Rider Program Weekend Closures

Lot D will host Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Motorcycle Rider Program on select weekends from July 10 through Oct. 25. This partnership supports motorcycle safety education and rider training. During scheduled training sessions, Lot D will be closed to general parking Fridays from 6–10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Please refer to the UIS campus map for nearby parking alternatives during these periods.
