Kai Van-Roon Captures Flight C Singles Title at ITA Regional

The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team wrapped up three days of competition at the ITA Regional in Allendale, Mich., with a flight victory and two consolation titles on Monday.
Kai Van-Roon headlined the final day by winning the Flight C Singles championship match. Van Roon defeated Wayne State's Gunnar Warren 6-2, 7-5 in the title match.

Formed by merging four NCAA groups focused on equity and inclusion, the committee works to broaden opportunities for student-athletes across all divisions of the NCAA. |
Prairie Stars Ninth After Two Rounds at Midwest Collegiate

The UIS men's golf team is tied for ninth place after the first two rounds of the Midwest Collegiate at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Ind. The 54-hole tournament concludes with a final round on Tuesday. UIS posted two rounds of 304 on Monday for a 36-hole total of 608 strokes, even with Cedarville. Tiffin leads the 17-team field at 578. |
UIS Innovate Springfield to launch University of Illinois Founders Week

Innovate Springfield, the University of Illinois Springfield’s hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, will host Founders Day on Tuesday, Oct. 7, as the kickoff to 2025 Founders Week events. Founders Day is designed to shine a spotlight on entrepreneurship in Illinois. The event will bring together business founders, investors, government leaders and community members to share ideas, highlight local startups and discuss how to grow innovation across the state. |
