Schedule an Appointment

Health Services Appointment Information

Focus on your most urgent concern. If you have multiple issues to discuss, your provider may recommend scheduling a follow up appointment to ensure each concern receives adequate attention.

Allow flexibility in your schedule. Appointment lengths and wait times can vary depending on patient needs and clinic volume.

Clinic Hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Appointment Length Appointments may range from 15 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the reason for your visit. When scheduling, please provide as much information as possible so we can reserve the appropriate amount of time for your care.

Telehealth Appointments Telehealth appointments may be available when appropriate and are offered at no cost to students.

Billing and Insurance All charges are posted to your student account. If you plan to use insurance, it is your responsibility to submit receipts and any required documentation to your insurance provider. Receipts and forms are available through the UIS Patient Portal.

Please Plan Extra Time While we strive to stay on schedule, unexpected emergencies or more complex medical concerns may occasionally result in longer appointment times. We recommend allowing extra time before returning to class or other commitments.

We hope this information helps you have the best possible experience. Please don’t hesitate to call our receptionist to make an appointment (217-206-6676).  We reserve several open access appointments each day.

Health Services offers affordable healthcare services to support the UIS community. When appointments are missed without notice, it prevents other students from accessing available care. A no-show fee encourages students to be timely in canceling their appointments and help cover the cost of provider time reserved for the missed appointment.

A “no-show” fee of $15.00 is charged to those who do not show up for appointments.

Advocate for yourself: Be open about what you’re looking for, what is or isn’t working for you, and what you hope to get out of counseling. Your counselor is there to support you.

Find the right fit: It’s important to feel comfortable with your counselor. If the first counselor you meet with doesn’t feel like the right fit, that’s okay. You can ask about scheduling with someone else who may better meet your needs.
