Black History Month
As yearly tradition, UIS celebrates and commemorates the African diaspora and its impact on the world and community. During the month of February, the campus engages in deep conversations, performances, and ceremonies that explore and unmask Black history, culture, and global impact.

Hispanic/Latinx/e Heritage Month
As a yearly tradition, UIS celebrates and commemorates the cultural and global impact of the Hispanic/Latinx/e Culture. During September 15th to Oct 15th, the campus engages in deep conversations, performances, and ceremonies that explore and unearth the rich history of Latin America and Hispanic/Latinx/e cultures and global impact.

Pan y Cafe
As part of the Hispanic/LatinX (H/L) Initiative, the Pan y Cafe series is an opportunity for the campus community to gather, enjoy traditional H/L pastries, and talk about topics surrounding H/L communities.

As an ongoing attempt to promote an inclusive, socially just and aware campus, What Stands Between US is a program designed to make students aware of bias and predispositions they may have and how to reflect on their thoughts.
