In this workshop, Professor Lan Dong will discuss teaching and learning about health humanities and global awareness through visual storytelling. She will address course design and assignments inspired by research, pedagogy, and practices in the emerging field of graphic medicine. After a case study of selected class material and sample student projects, attendees will brainstorm, design, and workshop ideas for audio, visual, multimodal, interactive, and/or other innovative assignments to foster and assess student learning that would fit in their classes.
