Abby
Hi! My name is Abby Dellamorte, and I’m the Academic Skills TA at the Learning Hub. I work with students on skills such as time management and study strategies to help make the transition to college a little easier and to stay on track throughout. I’m currently a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Communications. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science here at UIS, where I was also a member of the Women’s Soccer team. Outside of work and school, I enjoy reading and going on walks with my friends.

Spencer
My name is Spencer and I am an accounting peer tutor. I am a Junior from Normal, IL and am a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance. In addition to academics and working as a peer tutor, I am also on the men's soccer team. In my free time I enjoy playing basketball, traveling, and golfing.
Computer Science

Josh
My name is Joshua and I am a Computer Science tutor for CSC 225 and 275. I am from a small town called New Braunfels, TX and I'm a Computer Science major with a minor in Mathematical Sciences. I have an interest in all things Computer Science such as programming and A.I.
In addition to my school and my job as tutor I am on the men's soccer team. Aside from work and school I really enjoy listening to music and watching Brooklyn 99.

Max
My name is Max Pilipovic from Brisbane Australia, I am a graduate student in the M.S in CS program. I am the CS teaching assistant at the Learning Hub and I am extremely passionate about cs topics and programming. I played tennis at Eastern Illinois for five years and I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing chess and programming! Hope to see ya'll around!

Mitch
My name is Mitch and I am a math peer tutor. I am a senior from Shorewood, IL and am currently a Mathematical Science major with a minor in Business Analytics. After college, I plan to become an actuary, so I am also studying and taking the actuarial exams.
In addition to academics, I am on the men's soccer team and would greatly appreciate anyone's support of the team, so please come out and see a game! Apart from soccer, I enjoy traveling, reading, and hiking.

Nicole
Nicole is the Math Coordinator and SI Coordinator in The Learning Hub. She earned her B.A. in Mathematics and M.A. in Mathematics from Eastern Illinois University. She then spent two years studying and teaching math at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her primary courses of study were Algebra related. She enjoys helping students learn all levels of mathematics. Nicole is also the faculty partner for the UIS Baseball team.

Hello! My name is Cameron Tucker, and I serve as an SI leader for BIO 141. I am from Bismarck, IL, and I am pursuing a degree in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Medical Studies, along with minors in Chemistry and Public Health. After completing my undergraduate studies, I plan to attend medical school with the goal of becoming either a family practice or emergency medicine physician.
Outside of classes, I like spending time with friends, lifting weights, and playing pickleball. I am really excited for the opportunity to serve my fellow students this semester and hope to be a helpful and encouraging resource!

Hello, my name is Zhiqiang, but I also go by John. I am an SI Leader for Financial Accounting 211. I am originally from Fuzhou, China, and immigrated to the United States when I was 11. I am currently a junior majoring in Accounting with a minor in Finance. Outside of academics, I enjoy running and swimming- they help me stay active and relaxed. I look forward to supporting students in the understanding of the fundamentals of accounting.

Hi, my name is Journey Kowigai, and I’m the SI Leader for ACC211. I’m currently in my junior year here at UIS, majoring in BBA Finance with a minor in Legal Studies. Hi, my name is Megan Hoffman, and I am one of your SI leaders for ACC 211! I am from here in Springfield and am a junior accounting major with minors in finance and economics. Outside of school, I enjoy crocheting, knitting, sewing, golfing, and singing. I'm an active member of the Springfield golf community as well as the UIS choir. After graduation, I plan to attend grad school and pursue my CPA while working in public accounting. I can't wait to share my experience and love of accounting with you all this semester!

My name is Mychael. I am currently a senior at UIS and serve as the SI Leader for General Chemistry - CHE 141. I am from Springfield, IL, majoring in chemistry with a minor in computer science. After graduation, I plan to pursue a graduate degree in analytical chemistry. I am especially interested in developing rapid chemical detection methods for environmental monitoring. In my free time, my interests include reading sci-fi and action novels, watching movies, and exploring different foods.

Natalie
Hello! I'm Natalie Norris, the SI Leader for Anatomy and Physiology (BIO 201). I am a Nursing major and currently a sophomore at UIS. I am from Auburn, IL, which is about twenty minutes south of UIS. I currently work at a doctor's office, and I am planning on working in a hospital after graduation.
Aside from my time at UIS, I enjoy baking and crocheting. I have several favorite TV shows, usually binge-watching House MD or Total Drama Island while I crochet. I have always wanted to help people in any way I could, so I am more than excited to work with everyone this year!

My name is Ryan and I am the student instructor for Organic Chemistry. I am currently a senior majoring in Biology at UIS planning on going to physician assistant school after I graduate. My hometown is Vandalia, Illinois, but I was born in Virginia. I currently work in St. Johns Emergency Department in Springfield. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports and watching movies. I am looking forward to helping students learn chemistry this semester.

My name is Audra, and I am a Writing TA at The Learning Hub. I am a second-year Public History graduate student and I also graduated from UIS with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology. After I graduate, I aim to pursue a career in museum education or archiving. When I am not busy with work or class, I love to play video games and watch movies—horror is my favorite genre! I hope you see you in The Learning Hub this semester!

Caya
My name is Caya, and I am a peer writing tutor at The Learning Hub. I am currently a junior/senior in the psychology program at UIS, and I am minoring in philosophy. After graduation, I hope to continue my education in either counseling, applied research, or both! I have two spoiled cat daughters, and in my free time I like to hang out with friends, make art, and relax. A personal mantra of mine is, “It is easier to self-destruct, but it is NOT worth it.” I look forward to getting to know you, connecting you with resources, and assisting with your writing process!

Hayden
Greetings, I'm Hayden. I am a writing peer tutor at The Learning Hub as well as a graduate student in political science. My B.A. was in philosophy.
Apart from coursework and my duties at The Learning Hub, my days and nights are spent reading and writing (believe it or not), exploring music and sound art (I play guitar and synthesizer and voraciously listen to records), watching films, taking hikes, hanging out with my cat and significant other, playing video games, and staring off into space.

My name is Joe and I am a writing tutor studying Business Administration with a minor in History. I grew up here in Springfield, IL and am in my sophomore year at UIS. Outside of school, I enjoy playing soccer, studying history, learning about current events, and watching TV/movies.

Morgan
Hi, my name is Morgan, and I am a writing specialist at The Learning Hub. I have my master’s degree in public history here at UIS and wrote my thesis on oral historical accounts of Route 66. I got my bachelor’s degree in art history and classics with a specialization in mythology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I previously spent three years working as an ESL tutor for both children and adults in Korea. I have three cats, Spoon, Michael, and Pudge. In my free time I enjoy crocheting, taking walks, and watching YouTube video essays.

Sarah
Sarah loves her job as the Writing Coordinator for The Learning Hub, which she has held since August of 2012. Previously, she received her Bachelor’s from UIS with an English major and an unofficial minor in Theatre, and then returned to UIS for her graduate studies in English. Her thesis project, entitled “The Face of Disability: Humanizing Effects of Autographics on the Physically and Mentally Impaired” won the UIS Outstanding Master's Thesis Award. She has also contributed chapters to Digitally Mediated Composing and You: A Beginners Guide to Understanding Rhetoric and Writing in an Interconnected World (on "What is Rhetoric" and "Genre"), and Civic Engagement in the College Classroom: A Guide for Community-Based Writing (on "Writing to Reflect: Reflecting on your Experiences with a Nonprofit"). She previously contributed to a comics encyclopedia titled Comics Through Time: A History of Icons, Idols, and Ideas, and UIS' own Alchemist Review. She lives with her husband and cats in Springfield.

Hello! My name is SJ. I am the Writing TA for The Learning Hub. I graduated from UIS with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Currently, I am in my first year as a graduate student in the HDC program. In my free time I like to garden, go for walks, spend time with my cats and watch movies. I also like to participate in the local community theatre. I look forward to working with you this semester!

Bailey
My major is Middle Level Education with an endorsement in math, and I have a 4.0 GPA. I am from Pontiac, IL. I am working the front desk at The Learning Hub. My Career Plans include teaching math at a junior high school near Pontiac and coach softball.
My hobbies include walking, baking, being outside, shopping, and hanging out with my friends and family. My favorite shows are Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, and One Tree Hill.

Emma
Hi, Y'all! My name is Emma Hughes, and I am one of the Front Desk Coordinators at The Learning Hub for the fall of 2025. I'm currently a junior here at UIS, studying Psychology with the goal of becoming a counselor. I was involved in 4-H for 10 years until I aged out, and I am currently serving my final term on the 4-H Illinois Youth Leadership Team.
Outside of school, I've recently got into hiking. I've explored some trails here in Illinois and a few in Missouri. If you stop by The Learning Hub and know some great hiking spots let me know! Id love to try some new hikes. I’m excited for a great fall semester and look forward to helping students at The Learning Hub!
