Speech and Debate Team Has an Excellent 2022-2023 Season

SPRINGFIELD, IL (April 3, 2023) - The UIS Speech and Debate Team had a record 2022-2023 season. This academic year saw the team reach its largest size in a decade with 12 students becoming part of the organization. The team also competed in nine virtual competitions throughout the season. |

UIS Attends Asynchronous Speech Championship

SPRINGFIELD, IL (March 27, 2023) – The UIS Speech and Debate Team completed their competition season by taking part in the Asynchronous Speech Championship, an online speech tournament. Thirty-eight schools participated in this week long competition.Returning competitor Clark Morgan represented UIS at this tournament. He participated in impromptu speaking, an event that requires the student to construct a five minute speech in less than two minutes. Morgan has been practicing this event all year. |
